If you are looking for a more affordable hotel with 5+ star service look no further. Great little hotel in a great location. However, the rooms are on the smaller side, which is to be expected in Tokyo downtown. If you like it more quiet ask for a room in the back of the hotel.

The room is larger than most at this price. The location is terrific with lots of restaurants and easy access to the subway and train lines. The staff are extremely helpful and speak very good English.

My friend and I (two guys in early 30s) did a 2 day layover in Tokyo on our way to another stop in Asia, so we wanted a centrally-located, decently inexpensive (for Tokyo's prices) hotel that still gave you a sense of security, luxury, and a good night's sleep. This hotel provided everything we were looking for. We took the Narita Rapid Train from NRT, and it took about 90 minutes to get directly to the Shimbashi Station. The Shimbashi Station is a 3-5 minute walk from the hotel. Just make sure you take the correct exit (east) out of the station and look for the larger Dai Ichi Hotel. The annex is right behind it.

Short walk to major rail & metro station, and the famous "Yakitori Under the Tracks" mini-restaurants and watering holes. Staff very friendly and helpful, rooms immaculate. Only drawback is very limited closet and drawer space and no luggage storage space. However, room is larger than usual Tokyo standard.

Two thumbs up to all the reviewers on hotels.com - Dai Ichi Annex was an awesome place to stay for our vacation. Friendly staff, excellent location, and great rooms with comfy beds and a large bathtub for soaking our feet after a long day of sightseeing. As mentioned by one of the reviewers, this hotel is located in a business district - this was a positive for us ... it was fun to watch the businessmen/women in suits commuting to/from the train station or dining after work in one of the many excellent small restaurants nearby. I will definitely stay here again on my next visit to Tokyo.

The location was great - an easy walk to the train station and subway station, as well as to the heart of Ginza. The immediate neighborhood didn't seem as fancy, which made it easy to find affordable meals and souvenirs. The rooms were small, with complimentary tea but no coffee. The view was nice, and the beds and pillows more comfortable than usual. An important note though: there is free internet, but no wifi.

I relied on the reviews on hotels.com and they were right on. Excellent location, centrally located, proximity to train station made it convenient but also offered affordable places to eat. Hotel is a bit older in style but clean as a whistle. Room was small but quiet and comfortable for sleeping. The staff was superb. Airport bus picks up at sister hotel which is across the street. Clean, good location, free internet. Only small quip is that the health club is not included, but that's getting greedy.

Friendly staff. Location was pretty good - it's quiet and off the beaten path in a sense, but is near Shimbashi stations, which provides easy rail connections to most eastern Tokyo attractions. I would stay here again.

The staff at the Dai Ichi Annex were very helpful and friendly and I really enjoyed my stay. It was fairly centrally located and there was easy access to Ginza and trains to just about anywhere else in the city. The only downfall was that the immediate surrounding was primarily a business district (I was there for vacation so that wasn't very useful for me). But again- easy access to other areas proved that to be mostly a moot point. Oh - one more slight negative - if you wish to use their laundry service, you will find that very expensive. I know it's normally expensive but it was going to work out to about $70 USD for 4 days worth of clothes. I found it cheaper at other hotels. I again attribute this to it being a business hotel so this is more of a cautionary note rather than a real negative feeling. I would stay here again.

I can't believe it. I feel like I lucked out with this one. Price, comfort, service, & location. Clean as can be, nice service at the front desk. Very convenient Shimbashi train station 4 minutes away. Well worth the savings over the main hotel if you don't care that the lobby doent have a tea room like the other bldg. It is very very nice, but more simple.

This hotel is really conveniently located, next to Shimbashi station. The staff is really helpful and speaks good english. A great hotel for the price.

I have been staying here since they first opened in the early 90's. Service etc., never waivers. Location is great for central Tokyo, just a few steps to the trains, Ginza etc. Tons of great places to eat in the area. Prices to fit any pocket book.

Dai Ichi Annex was a reasonably priced hotel with an excellent location near the Simbashi station. We were able to take subways and the JR line to tour throughout Tokyo. Highly recommended for 1st time visitor.

Great location - close to shopping district of Ginza and central Tokyo. Modern, high quality rooms, and friendly service. However, quite pricey for what you're getting. Internet access, for example, costs 525 yen for half and hour. Much better to find a cafe nearby.

The hotel staff is accomodating, friendly, and well prepared. The hotel is elegant, chic, with great looking exterior and interior. The location is excellent since it was a short walk from the Shimbashi Station (Shinkanse, JR, Subway, other) and Ginza district. Great accomodations for a hotel in Tokyo.

The standard double room was a bit small but we managed to put 2 large suite cases on the window sil out of the way for the whole stay but you never spend much time in your room anyway.

Having stayed in many hotels in Tokyo, the Dai Ichi Annex is a great value. Good location to the Ginza, next to Shimbashi Station with two convient subway lines and the JR Yamanote Line (Tokyo circle line). If you can live out of your suitcase in a small (very clean and modern) room, also, with no hotel shops or resturant. This is a great value. If not, go across the street to the main Dai Ichi Hotel.

As far as location, this hotel is just fine. Very near to Ginza. About a 5 minute walk from Shinbashi station on JR line. Two stops to Tokyo Station for Narita Express. Can use all facilities of adjacent Dai Ichi Tokyo Hotel. Airport busses and tours pick up at the Dai Ichi Tokyo, so convenient in that regard. Staff brings luggage over to meet airport bus. Rooms are small, but have minibar. Safe at front desk. Bathroom just fine with high tech toilet. Was very clean. Front desk staff very accomodating. If you do not need grand hotel, but have access to grand hotel, this is the place for you. I was good with this one for the price.

Nice hotel, good location near Ginza and Palace

This hotel is a great value. I don't think the location could have been any better, just steps away from the Shambushi station, from which we could get just about anywhere around Tokyo pretty easily. Plus an easy walk to the Ginza area. Also, an easy walk to many, many restaurants. The room was a little on the small side for two people, but not too bad really, as we didn't spend much time there anyway.

Hi location is great, close to the train, a quick walk to the Ginza district. The room is on the small side, but very very clean. The staff is extremely helpful and friendly.

The location of this hotel is one of the main selling points in my opinion. If you want a central hotel in the mid-price range this is for you. I managed to walk and see all the sights I needed and you are next to one of the main Tokyo stations. The room was clean and comfortable so a good place to stop.

Great location in downtown Tokyo. Near the ginza district for some great shopping and near the Imperial palace. Overall great rooms and great service. I just wish it wasn't so expensive, but I guess thats Tokyo!

Clean hotel with all the necessary amenities. Good location....near train station, coffee shops, convenient stores, etc. Excellent staff. Plan to stay there again!

Based on numerous good reviews, booked this for recent travel to Tokyo. Loved the fact it was a block from Shimbashi Station, which gave great subway access to the entire city. Staff couldn't have been more helpful.

Our room was small (not uncommon in Japanese hotels) but it was very clean and modern. We had a queen size bed and pillows that were very firm - not the most confortable by American standards. The TV was a very modern HDTV with CNN, BBC, and Golf channels in English. Bedside control panel operated the lights and openned and closed the curtains, a very nice feature. An English speaking person greated us as we walked in the door and handled our check-in. The hotel is very convenient to Japan Rail and to Tokyo Metro. We would definitely stay there again.

this is a great hotel. they just renovated and the rooms are very modern, large for tokyo standards, and have flat screen tv's and large windows. Its steps away from Ginza and near multiple subway lines. Stay here.

Très bien situé et un bon rapport qualité prix. Lew chambres sont assez petites, le pdj au buffet n'est pas excellent et la piscine payante. Sinon, parfait.

Som turist i Tokyo kan man vist ikke bo mere centralt i byen. På hotellet - som overalt i Japan - er hjælpsomheden og venligheden meget stor. (As a tourist I think you can't live more central in Tokyo. In the hotel - as anywhere in Japan - the helpness og the kindness is very great.)

Pænt værelse, dog lidt lille. Meget lidt plads til tøj og kufferter. Dejligt roligt. Morgenmadsrestauranten temmelig dyr.

Vi bodde 2 vuxna och 2 barn i 2 dubbelrum i 7 nätter på detta hotell under påsken 2009. I familjeomröstningen som rörde den sammanlagda hotellupplevelsen fick hotellet en 7:a på en 10 gradig skala. På plussidan: Rummen är välutrustade och internetuppkoppling och engelskspråkig morgontidning ingår i priset. Det fanns massagefotöljer i båda rummen som kom väl till pass efter långa stadsvandringar. Personalen var mycket hjälpsam och tillmötesgående och rummen var alltid mycket välstädade. Hotellet låg/ligger nära både tunnelbana och JR (pendeltåg). På minussidan: Det är små rum vilket vi i och för sig hade väntat oss. 24 grader Celcius är tydligen standard på rumstemperatur vilket var för en för hög temperatur för oss. Personalen hjälpte dock till och det blev bättre i slutet på vistelsen. Om man till äventyrs inte stänger inner- och ytterfönster hör man i rummen på östra sidan av trafiken från vägen och järnvägen utanför. Vi hade dock inga problem att sova.

Sikkert et helt greit hotell til prisen sammenlignet med andre hoteller i Tokyo. Som nevt av andre så er rommet lite, men det tilbyr alt jeg trenger. Sentral beliggenhet i forhold til bane og tog. Mye shopping og spisesteder i næområdet.

Ett hotell med bra läge i kanten av Ginza. Nära till Metro och många restauranger runt omkring. Besök gärna de små restaurangerna som ligger under järnvägsbron! Ett minus med hotellet, att pool och gym inte ingick i avgiften och att det låg i en annan byggnad som man var tvungen att gå ut för att kom till entren.
